A bus filled with schoolchildren has clipped a car and crashed into a fence while travelling to a school in Adelaide.
The vehicle, according to witnesses, only just avoided hitting a child who was riding their bike to school on Moseley Street, in Glenelg South, on the city’s coast.
“The sound of the bus going in there [to the fence] was very loud, there was a lot of energy there,” a witness told 7 News.
“We were just so thankful there was no school students or bike riders that were in the way.”
Emergency crews responded to the incident early Friday after receiving reports of a crash.
“Police and emergency crews called to Moseley and Pier Street, Glenelg, after a bus and a Nissan station wagon crashed before the bus struck a fence,” a police spokesperson told news.com.au.
“No one injured. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.”
Photos from the scene showed a panel of reed fencing had fallen down from the impact of the bus.
The front of the bus had also suffered significant damage.
